About the Post

Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad invites online applications for Senior Software Engineer on contract basis for the Institute Automation Cell.

Desirable Qualification

First class B.E. /B. Tech /MSc. Degree or equivalent in Computer Science and Engineering or Information
Technology or equivalent or MCA from a recognized University/Institute of repute.

Desirable Experience

At least 5 years of experience with hands-on working experience and strong knowledge in the following: MVC framework, Web development framework (like Spring), PHP, Java technologies, J2EE technologies especially JSP, JDBC, HTML5, JSON, Java script frontend framework like jQuery.

Web service tools and XML. Database design and development for efficient online transaction processing environment using RDBMSs like PostgreSQL, etc. Software development processes including various life-cycle models. UML, system and class design, development, testing and maintenance of software systems.

Maximum Age

Not exceeding 40 years.

Work Location

IIT Palakkad, but may be deputed to work from other IITs for extended durations from time to time.

Selection Process

Shortlist based on resume, followed by written / practical exam, and interview.

• The above positions are purely on contract basis.
• The completion of the period of the contract will not confer any right for further extension, regularization, or permanency at the Institute.
• The place of posting will be IIT Palakkad, but selected candidates may be deputed to work from other IITs for extended durations from time to time.
• Candidates must be citizens of India.

Pay Scale

Consolidated monthly remuneration for this position will be in the range Rs. 60,000 to 80,000/-. The exact amount will be fixed based on experience and skill-set.
