The Better India and LICHFL present Womentaries: Her Story, Your Lens.

Enter the documentary-making contest to showcase your talents and capture the stories of inspiring women leading change. No professional experience is required, just a passion for storytelling through filmmaking.  You can register and submit your entry for free.

Winners will get cash prizes of up to Rs 6 Lakh!

Who can Participate in LIC HFL Womentaries?

The Womentaries contest is open to all individuals interested in making a 2-5 minute documentary on women’s empowerment. Whether you are a seasoned professional or a budding filmmaker, you are welcome to participate. Professional experience is not necessary, making the contest accessible to a wide range of aspiring documentary filmmakers.

Prizes for LIC HFL Womentaries

The cash prizes for the documentary filmmaking contest are distributed as follows:

• First Prize: Rs. 3 lakh
• Second Prize: Rs. 2 lakh
• Third Prize: Rs. 1 lakh

Rewards for LIC HFL Womentaries

• Fifty shortlisted participants will attend an online Masterclass conducted by an experienced filmmaker who has worked on over 100 documentaries. Learn essential skills to effectively convey your story in a 2-5 minute film.
• If you’re shortlisted, you’ll have 20 days after the Masterclass to shoot, edit, and deliver your documentary. Use a DSLR or your phone for filming, ensuring the final film is of high resolution and meets the requirements.
• The top 10 participants will be honored at a Mumbai event where their films will be screened. From the finalists, 3 winners will be announced at the same event.

How to Participate in LIC HFL Womentaries?

To participate, register using the link and provide a brief description of your story and the impact of your protagonist on her community. Entries will be assessed by a panel from Better India and LICHFL.

Important Dates for LIC HFL Womentaries

• The deadline for registering is 15^th July 2023.
• The deadline for film submission is 7th August 2023.
